After months of creating and developing our biggest show yet, we brought Tita Jokes to the 2019 Toronto Fringe. As part of the grassroots social media campaign (created by the Titas!) #FilipinxFringe, our show, alongside Through the Bamboo and Monica vs. The Internet, brought a massive Filipinx audience to the Toronto Fringe! Our show was met with great success, having a nearly sold-out run, winning the Tarragon Mainspace's Patron's Pick and the Second City's Outstanding Comedy Award! We accumulated pre-press from major media outlets such as Toronto Life, and rave reviews from NOW Magazine, Toronto Star, Mooney on Theatre, and local theatre critics. You can check them out below:

NOW Magazine: “NNNN”

Mooney on Theatre: “Tita Jokes is an exquisite, hilarious, multi-layered spectacle”

Istvan Dugalin: “Tita Jokes provides laughs, challenges your expectations”

We can't wait to perform Tita Jokes again in the fall at Second City's John Candy Box Theatre as part of our award! Will we be on the main stage later this year? Stay updated to find out!

I'm excited to be heading into some exciting new theatre project later this summer and early fall! I'll be heading into a development workshop with Bad Hats Theatre, exploring the world of Alice in Wonderland.

Come this September, I'll be in rehearsals for Cahoots' and bcurrent's co-production of Hilot Means Healer, which will be presented at The Theatre Centre this October! I promise to update everyone on how the project goes!

I've been super busy these few months with all sorts of acting, sketch comedy, and music opportunities! Check out what I've been up to these first few months of 2019:

  • Tita Collective has been on the rise! Recently we closed a sold-out run of our newest musical sketch revue, Tita Jokes! With the success of our recent show, we've received recognition by various media outlets, including an exclusive feature on Cold Tea Collective's list "19 Millenial Women You Should Know" We are also making our debut at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival this year, featuring the best of Tita Jokes! Our "Must-See" show closes on Thursday, March 14, 8PM at the Theatre Centre (Franco Boni Theatre). Check out this exclusive feature! For tickets to our final Toronto SketchFest show, click here!

  • I had the chance to be a part of the workshop of Ellen Denny's new play, Wonder, based on the story of Ellen's great-aunt, Harriet Brooks, Canada's first female nuclear physicist.

  • It was such a great experience being a part of Driftwood Theatre's annual fundraising event, Trafalgar 24, performing a 10 minute new piece written in just 24 hours the night before!

I've got some exciting projects coming up this Spring - stay tuned!
